A Roarin' Good Time
If MPBA’s Chinese New Year dinner was any indication as to what the rest of the year would bring, it would be lots of fun, laughter and a wild 2010 ahead.
About 60 attended the gala event at Hung To Seafood Restaurant, South San Francisco on Saturday, February 27th. Regardless of whether one was Malaysian, non-Malaysian, Chinese or non-Chinese, everyone was welcome, and partook in the Chinese New Year festivities to celebrate the Year of the Tiger.
MPBA President Joshua Choo welcomed all guests and talked about what was in store for 2010, including a possible hawker event.
Guests were treated to a mouth-watering nine-course meal that evening and to keep everyone entertained there were lots of games including poker, food trivia and a mini scavenger hunt to look for items listed.
To close the wonderful evening, everyone stood up, raised their glasses and toasted a hearty, “Yum Seng!” (equivalent of bottoms up) to drink to the success of everyone present. Each attendee also took home an "ang pau" (red packet) and oranges as symbols of wealth.
Thanks to all who helped in the successful organization of the event, and also to Malaysian Industrial Development Authority for their donation of gifts. |
